About Psalm 31 Ministries LLC
Psalm 31 Ministries was established as an LLC in the State of Georgia in 2019 by founder Nancy J. Slater. The mission is to inspire all who come in contact with this ministry, based on the founder's personal mission statement: Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I believe that God will provide for me. My purpose is to positively impact everyone I encounter, inspire all whom I meet, and reflect the light of my faith to others. Psalm 31 Ministries LLC was the sponsoring organization for the Slater's Final Ministry Project required for the Doctor of Ministry program. The project's title: Pastoral Training in Domestic Violence Awareness for Pastors and Church Leaders in Southeast Atlanta. Slater earned her degree on September 20, 2021.
As a DV survivor, she has volunteered for DV agencies in Seattle, Las Vegas and in Georgia, where she continues to advocate for survivors and their children. She was licensed as a minister in 2018 and ordained as an Elder in 2023. Dr. Slater facilitates the New Member training at her church, Restored Life Church International, in Decatur, GA. She is very active in social justice issues, especially those laws that impact the survivor, their children and perpetrators negatively. She has authored one book and is working on a second in addition to creating a domestic violence awareness curriculum suitable for schools of theology and seminaries in order to better prepare pastors and church leaders in de-escalation and how to assist all victims reach safety, healing, and strengthening their faith.
Dr. Nancy lived in Nazareth Israel for three months while she attended the Nazareth Evangelical Theological Seminary (now Nazareth Evangelical College) during the final quarter of her Masters of Ministry studies. The experience deepened her faith and broadened her worldview. The photo, taken by Slater in 2014, is of an ancient olive tree in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus spent time in this garden. The Romans chopped down all the trees during the destruction of the Jerusalem in 70 a.d. a The trees in the today’s garden were planted during the rebuilding period and while the Epistles were being written.
